After presenting the “Jesus Shoes” and the “Satan Shoes”, the seven-person artistic collective MSCHF has now unveiled its latest project: the “Birkinstock”.
While the Jesus Shoes launched in 2019 and were a pair of Nike Air Max 97s featuring the River Jordan’s holy water and the Satan Shoes contained 60ml of red ink and one drop of human blood, the Birkinstock is something different.
They are the classic Birkenstock sandals made with the leather of the well-known Birkin handbag by Hermès.
Needless to say, neither brands have anything to do with the project.
The result is a hybrid between the sophisticated handbag and the most (anti) fashion sandals, that you have at a selling price ranging between $34,000 and $76,000, depending on your shoe size, which determines how much Birkin leather will be used.
Having small feet (and some spare money!) is more of a necessity than ever before…
